Relevo

Available upon request, 2025

A limited-edition collection of stone furniture inspired by the work of Sergio Camargo, renowned for his geometric, minimalist sculptures and his masterful exploration of light and shadow across sculpted surfaces.

The pieces echo this language of primitive geometries, while shifting it toward a more functional and tactile dimension. The result is a subtle dialogue between art and design — a continuous fil rouge that connects sculptural abstraction with the domestic landscape.

The collection is crafted in soapstone, known in Brazil as pedra sabão — a material deeply embedded in the country’s artistic and cultural heritage. It was precisely this stone that Aleijadinho, one of the most important figures of Brazilian Baroque, used to create many of his masterpieces for churches and palaces during the colonial period.

Soapstone also plays a defining role in one of Brazil’s most iconic landmarks, the Christ the Redeemer, reinforcing its symbolic and cultural significance.

Developed in collaboration with the Brazilian company Maqstone, the collection was first presented during Then and Now – Brazilian Legacy, a group exhibition curated by Galerie Philia, held at the iconic MAC Niterói — a masterpiece by Oscar Niemeyer — offering a powerful dialogue between contemporary design and Brazilian cultural legacy.
