Cupola

CONVIVIUM, 2021

Marimar, a company specialized in the sale of slabs that has been operating for over twenty years in the marble, granite, agglomerate and natural stone sector, arrived at the Fuorisalone 2021 with Convivium, a project curated by the Milanese architect Davide Colaci.

Ten designers were selected to create a collection of objects for the marble table with the aim of finding unexpected ways of expression for our domestic everydaylife: Analogia project, Eligo Studio, Federico Angi, Giorgio Bonaguro, Gustavo Martini, Flatwig Studio, Maddalena Selvini, Matteo Agati, Philippe Tabet e Ronald Sasson.

Cupola is a precious bread plate made of Portoro marble and Vienna straw, a tribute to the archetypes of Italian domes. The container is made up of two parts: a base in black stone spotted with gold, which gives its name to the marble, and a wicker dome that protects the bread of the guests with the lightness of its intertwining.

Vienna straw, an element of the popular tradition of our tables, combines in an unconventional way with the complexity of the geometry of its base, restoring great expressiveness to the grain of a stone so characterized. Cupola is a small table architecture!
